Overview

How we approach brakes, tires & alignment.

Brakes are safety work, and safety work has to be done right. We use OEM-spec pads and rotors as the default, with quality aftermarket alternatives only when the customer chooses them. Cheap pads dust your wheels, fade under load, and make noise — and they don't actually save money once you're back in the bay six months early.

A complete brake job is more than pads and rotors. It includes inspecting the calipers and slide pins (and replacing or rebuilding them if they're seized), bleeding the brake fluid (because moisture in old fluid is the leading cause of soft pedals), and properly bedding the new pads onto the new rotors. Bedding is the controlled break-in process that transfers a thin layer of friction material onto the rotor surface — skip it and the brakes feel notchy and pulsate within a few thousand miles. Most shops skip it.

For tires, we mount and balance on a Hunter Road Force machine — the same equipment that detects tire and wheel imbalances most spin balancers miss. We measure tread depth and wear pattern at every service and tell you honestly when it's time to replace, not when we'd like it to be.

Alignment is where a lot of shops cut corners. We run a full four-wheel alignment using the factory specs for your vehicle — not "in the green," not "good enough." A proper alignment extends tire life by 10–20%, fixes pulling, and centers the steering wheel where it belongs. We provide the before-and-after printout with every alignment.

If you're driving a sportier car — BMW M, Porsche, AMG, Audi RS — alignment specs vary by track-day vs. street setup. We'll match the OEM street spec by default and adjust to your preference if you've got a track car or autocross weekends. South Bay drivers from Manhattan Beach to Torrance bring us their performance cars because we don't lump them in with bread-and-butter alignment work.
